VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Friends of Recovery- Vermont is seeking volunteers to staff various positions for Recovery Walk 2008. Volunteers are needed to help set-up and break- down the event and offer other logistical support throughout the day at the Recovery Walk. If you are interested in learning how you can help or for more information contact Patty McCarthy at recoveryvt@aol.com. Voluneteers recive free t-shirts and enjoy a volunteer orientation dinner!

GREEN MOUNTAIN RECOVERY WALK
Vermont's 3rd Annual Recovery Walk will be held in Montpelier beginning at the State House on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 10 am and the walk will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m. The Walk is a celebration of recovery for those in recovery, their family members, friends and other allies, as well as a symbol of hope for the thousands upon thousands still in the throes of addiction, so that they and their families and friends can have hope and see that recovery is not only possible, but a reality for many whose lives at one time were hopeless and full of despair. The FACES Project is made up of Vermont parents, families and adolescents whose lives have been affected by substance use and/or mental health issues. The goal of the FACES Project is to get parents and teens involved in helping shape teens substance use and mental health services across Vermont and when there is a need for family voices,
We want to be prepared and available FACES provides pportunities to share needs and concerns and focus on solutions.
WE ENVISION: * Getting rid of stigma *Reaching out to families *Changing attitudes *Increasing awareness of issues most important to families
The FACES Project has a Parent Advisory Board of consultants who are available to meet with community members and professionals.

Intentional “Wellbriety” Through Peer Support
CENTRAL VERMONT WELLBRIETY

Weekly meetings are an opportunity to: meet others like yourself, learn more about co-occurring conditions, receive educational and emotional support and explore ways to improve your quality of life
